There’s always time to bless others

Practice for the fourth annual Celebration Choir of Pagosa is underway.

The good news is that there is still time for more singers to join us!  You don’t need a good voice or need to read music, and there aren’t any auditions.   All that is needed is a heart’s desire to sing about our Lord’s birth, touch the hearts and lives of all in attendance, and work with members of other churches to show we serve the same Lord.  The choir is not in competition with other Christmas music presentations; just an alternative to secular music.

Last year the Celebration Choir of Pagosa’s local popularity caused its free presentation to increase from one performance to two; both highly attended.  As in the past, Pine Ridge Extended Care Center will always have a private performance for its staff and residents.

No church is represented over another; we are all unified as one “family” overflowing with the Christian joy of Christ’s birth.

This season’s performance is titled “The First Noel” and is very majestic, inspiring, and at times toe-tapping.  This presentation, like seasons before, should be greatly enjoyed by the singers and audience.  Do you wish to be a part of this exciting experience?

The choir will again be directed by Perry Schjolin.  Perry’s musical career started at the age of four when he was taught the piano.  After becoming a Christian in high school, Perry felt a divine direction to make music his career.  After graduating from the prestigious Grove School of Music in Los Angeles, California, with an emphasis in musical composition and arrangement, Perry performed with The Los Angeles Symphony Orchestra, The Los Angeles Master Chorale, and The Hollywood Symphony Orchestra.  Perry also sang background for Barry Manilow, Sarah Brightman, and Trace Adkins.

The choir has openings for soprano, alto, tenor and bass.  There will also be solos along with male and female narrators.

Does this sound like an opportunity for you to glorify the Lord’s birth and touch hundreds of interested Pagosans?  If it does, call Jerri Anderson at 731-9219.  She will joyfully handle all the rest providing you with written sheet music and a CD for your learning/listening.  Come and join the family of The Celebration Choir of Pagosa!

Practice is every Sunday afternoon from 3-5 p.m.  If for any reason you can’t make a practice here or there it won’t cause any problems for you or the choir, we are flexible.  Practice is at CrossRoad Christian Fellowship.  We are located at 1044 Park Ave., behind City Market, just west of the Pagosa Lakes Recreation Center.  See you there!
