Nurturing Parenting Program begins tonight

Allow our Nurturing Parenting facilitators to nurture your family this fall. Come and join our fall program of Nurturing Parenting, where parents and their children can come to discuss and practice nurturing themselves and each other.

The Nurturing Parenting Program begins its fall session this evening, 5:30-8:30 p.m. This is a 16-week program to support and strengthen families through education in empathy and caring responsibility and discipline.

Feeling a bit stressed, finances are hard, kids out of hand and you would love to take a vacation from it all? Come join other parents and children, share a meal and some fun. This fall we are pleased to include “All My Money” curriculum that provides information that can help refocus financial goals and strategies. Make it a family affair.

Pagosa’s Nurturing Parenting program has traditionally focused on families with young children, but we are now open to families of all ages and composition. We have a teen group facilitator and will also be encouraging these teens to help with the younger set via puppet shows and role playing. Our focus is to promote nonviolence within families and together set goals and explore ways to create a healthy cooperative home.

Our program is offered by San Juan Basin Health Department, supported by Temple Hoyne Buell Foundation and other caring community agencies.

There is no charge for this 16-week program. There is a meal and incentives; donations are happily accepted. Call for registration: Lily Mondragon, 749-5541.
