BootJack Ranch to sponsor United Way tournament

The United Way of Archuleta County is proud to announce that the Title Sponsor of the 12th annual United Way Charity Golf Tournament will be BootJack Ranch.

The tournament will be held, Saturday, Aug. 21, at the Pagosa Springs Golf Club. The format will be a four-person scramble and will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Two different flights, Championship and “Just-For-Fun,” will be offered, as well as various contests, prizes and giveaways. The tournament cost per player is $100 for the Championship flight and $75 for the “Just-For-Fun” flight. This amount includes green fees, cart, continental breakfast, lunch, and prizes of various golf packages and other golf-related items. Golfers can enter as a team or as individuals by calling United Way at 731-0484.

Event chairmen Buddy Schuchardt and John Weiss, along with their committee, have been working hard to make this year’s tournament the best ever. They encourage all area golfers to participate in the event and to register as soon as possible for this fun day on the course which will benefit a multitude of worthy organizations in Pagosa Springs.

This golf tournament is the primary fund-raising event for the county’s United Way campaign and 99 percent of all funds raised stay in our county. The Archuleta County Advisory Council for United Way of Southwest Colorado has set a goal of raising $85,000 to aid 15 local agencies that address health and human services needs in the county, including American Red Cross, Archuleta County Education Center, Archuleta County Victim Assistance Program, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Colorado Housing, Girl Scouts, Habitat for Humanity of Archuleta County, Pagosa Outreach Connection, Pagosa Pregnancy Center, San Juan Basin Area Agency on Aging, San Juan Basin Health, Southwest Smile Makers Dental Clinic, Seeds of Learning, Southwest Colorado Mental Health Center, Southwest Conservation Youth Corps in Pagosa Springs and Southwest Safehouse.
