Count on fun for the whole family during the Western Heritage Ranch Rodeo on Saturday morning. Watch ranch cowboys and cowgirls compete in horse catching, calf branding, team penning, team doctoring and wild cow milking. This rodeo is an invitational event, so come out and see the ranch hands compete. Admission to watch the rodeo is included in your gate entry. If you and your fellow ranch hands want to enter this event, call Jess Ketchum at (970) 759-3210.
Kids, parents and visitors will flock to the Kid’s Rodeo on Sunday, Aug. 8, at noon. All ages compete in events from stick-horse races and mutton bustin’ for the younger kids, to steer riding and team roping for the teenagers. Every winner gets a buckle except those 5 years and younger. All mutton bustin’ contestants get a T-shirt.
The Kid’s Rodeo is a traditional favorite, full of fun for the whole family. Admission to watch the rodeo is included in your gate entry, however, most events have a small entry fee for participants.
Mosey on over, rodeo fans, for a rip-roaring good time. The Archuleta County Fair takes place Friday, Aug. 6, through Sunday, Aug. 8.
