Humane Society seeking auction items

The 16th annual Auction for the Animals will be  held Friday, Aug. 27, at the Pagosa Springs Community Center.

The organization is now seeking donations for the auction. Signed artwork and books, gift certificates, jewelry, sports and outdoor activity equipment, gift items, dog and cat related products, and other biddable items are needed in order for this event to be a success again this year. If you have an item or items you would like to donate (we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization for your tax purposes), please deliver the item(s) to the administrative office located above the Thrift Store and complete the auction donation form.

Since there are in excess of 200 auction items to process, it would be greatly appreciated if items could be donated as soon as possible to make the cataloging process more efficient. All donations must be received by 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, to be included in the auction.

For information concerning donations or to arrange pick-up of large items, contact the administrative office at 264-5549.

The deadline for items to be included in the event program is Aug. 16. Donations received after Aug. 16 will be listed in the addendum.  The Humane Society Auction Committee reserves the right to auction or otherwise sell donated items in a manner that will maximize contributions to the organization. Your help in securing items for the Auction will ensure its success.

The Humane Society provides homeless animals with temporary shelter and care until they can be reunited with their owners or an adoptive family can be found, and this service benefits the entire county. The Humane Society does not receive any funding from the Humane Society of the United States, American Humane, the ASPCA, or from United Way. The animal shelter relies on revenue from private donations, the Thrift Store, and through fund raisers such as the Auction for the Animals.

Please mark your calendars and attend this fun evening of great food and drinks, wonderful auction items, and music to shop to by JP Rappenecker.
