The fire restrictions put into place in parts of unincorporated Archuleta County June 29 have been lifted leaving no existing limitations, effective Wednesday morning.
The restrictions included the area south of U.S. 160, west of County Road 500, south of C.R. 542, and west of C.R. 359. The area excluded the Town of Pagosa Springs, public lands and Southern Ute Indian Tribe lands.
La Plata County and the Southern Ute Indian Tribe are expected to similarly remove their restrictions this week.
County Director of Emergency Management Drew Petersen noted that the weather and recent precipitation, as well as increasing fuel moisture, made the removal of the restrictions safe.
