Singers of every range and ability are invited to attend a choral workshop and festival at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, Aug. 6-8.
Whether you are an experienced singer currently singing in a choir or perhaps have sung in the past and would like to brush up your skills, this workshop is for you.
Clinician Peter Schindler, director of Music Ministries at Church of the Annunciation in Lewisville, Texas, has done extensive studies regarding the human voice and has developed techniques to help the average singer produce a more beautiful sound.
During the course of the workshop, singers will be led through a series of exercises to help improve vocal production as well as learn specific songs that will be performed on Sunday evening, Aug. 8, at St. Patrick’s Sunday Night Unplugged service.
The event will begin on Friday, Aug. 6, with a session from 6-7:30 p.m. On Saturday, Aug. 7, the session will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a break for lunch from noon to 1:30 p.m., and will end at 3:30. On Sunday, singers will gather at 3:30 p.m. to rehearse music for the Sunday Night Unplugged service.
All singers are invited to attend and participate, regardless of church affiliation or experience. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn beautiful music, brush up on vocal skills, sing with friends from around the community, and learn vocal techniques from an expert.
For more information or to sign up, call Sally Neel at 946-6458, or e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org. There is a suggested cost of $10 per participant to help cover expenses.
