Pagosa Duathlon: Half Duathlon is for everyone

On Saturday, July 10, runners and bikers alike are out for a fun race, a fun time and a fun competition.

The Pagosa Duathlon has a race for everyone — the mini-Du for kids, the full Duathlon for the die-hards, and the Half Duathlon for the rest of us.

The Half Duathlon is a perfect balance of run and mountain bike for most athletic enthusiasts who love to trek around in our pristine San Juan Mountains. The Half Duathlon starts with a quick 3-mile trail run, then a 7-mile mountain bike to the finish. The course is fast and furious and very fun.

You can’t beat the Half Duathlon — for some, it’s an ideal opportunity for casual competition; for others, it’s a fast course to test their speed and agility; and for others yet, it’s the perfect length to get you started on other race endeavors. No matter what the reason, the Pagosa Half Duathlon is truly a great race.

But wait … other great news is you can “du” it as a team. Both duathlons have a two-member team division. If you need a race partner, just call us at 264-9075 and we can match you with either a runner or a biker.

Come enjoy the gorgeous terrain of Brockover Mesa and surrounding landscape. We guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

The race starts at 8:30 a.m. Afterwards, re-fuel with food while hoping to win some of the great prizes we have to give away.

Driving directions, race registration and event details are available on our website at www.acvap.org. Come join us and “Do-the-Du.”
