Mountain View Homemakers auction benefits local non-profits

Everyone is cordially invited to the Mountain View Homemakers auction on July 8 at 1 p.m. at the Extension Building at the fairgrounds.

There will be items for auction ranging in value from a couple of dollars to several hundred dollars. Please come prepared to bid generously. There will be handmade items including pillows, quilts, gift baskets, fine art (paintings by Denny Rose, Glessie Drake, Brenda Richey, Cathy Rutherford and Jeanine Malaney) and food items (Kim’s truffles, Dot’s coconut cake).

The proceeds from this auction benefit local charities, which in the past have included The Education Center, Victim Assistance, Big Brothers-Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity, Hospice, The Pregnancy Support Center, Seeds of Learning, and many more.

The Homemakers organization is a monthly gathering of women who are interested in making the lives of their families and their community more livable. The meetings include lunch and either speakers or a hands-on community project. One auction fund-raiser every summer results in contributions to several local non-profit efforts. There are no dues or membership requirements.
