There are only eight days left until Archuleta County celebrates the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, to be held June 18-19 at Golden Peaks Stadium at the Pagosa Springs High School.
The banner has been hung over Hot Springs Boulevard, and Relay posters can be seen in windows and on bulletin boards all over town. If you haven’t yet gotten involved, there is still time for you to participate!
Sign up: There is still time to sign up individually or join one of the many teams, and to help raise monies or walk the track in support of this great effort.
Sponsorship: There is still time to take out a $100 sponsorship, which entitles you to a posted sign on the track. Not limited to businesses, individuals are also encouraged to sponsor in this manner.
Luminarias: There is still time to remember, support or honor your loved ones with a beautiful luminaria, set around the track and lighted at dusk. Luminarias are $10 each. Purchase of luminarias will be available until 6 p.m. at the track on the day of the event.
Contribute: There is still time to contribute to the team of your choice. Remember, there is a competition among the teams and the winner will have its name permanently inscribed on the rotating trophy, the coveted Pig Trophy. Support the team of your choice; they have all worked very hard, holding car washes, bake sales, motorcycles runs, horseshoe tournaments, etc. If you missed these events, you can still send them a donation check.
Relay website: For information on all of the above, or to make a donation, you can go online to www.archuletarelay.org or call Barbara Briles at 264-0216. And be there at 4 p.m., when the activities begin.
