Obituary - Helen Reeds Miller

Helen Reeds Miller, died Friday, May 28, 2010. She was born on March 16, 1927, in San Angelo, Texas, but was raised in Oklahoma City after her family moved there. After graduating from Classen High School, she attended Oberlin College in Ohio for two years and then graduated from Colorado College in Colorado Springs where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She then took a further degree at Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in New York City. Returning to Oklahoma, she obtained a job at Stanolind Oil Company in Tulsa. Helen had three children with her first husband, Henry M. White, Jr.: Helen Cameron Davis, Henry (Cappy) M. White III, and Bolling (Burly) Reeds White. She was a member of the Junior League of Tulsa. In 1968, she married William R. Miller and they had 38 years together in a very loving relationship. Helen worked at the U. S. Court Clerk’s Office for 25 years and had many lifelong friends there. After she retired, she and Bill moved to Pagosa Springs and lived here for nine wonderful years, again making many lifelong friends. In 2004, she and Bill moved back to Tulsa. Helen was active in volunteer work both in Tulsa and Pagosa Springs. She was especially devoted to all of her family and her many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents, Arthur Carl and Mabel B. Reeds; her brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Betty Reeds; her brother, Ted A. Reeds; and her beautiful granddaughter, Lauren Cameron White. She is survived by her children, Helen Cameron Davis; Cappy White and wife, Monica; Burly White and wife, Cindy; stepchildren Richard Carl Miller and wife, Nancy; Amanda K. Miller and husband, Bill Seider; nine grandchildren; three great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; sister-in-law, Sally Reeds; many loving nieces and nephews and extended family members. Memorial service?was held? Wednesday, June 2, at Jenks United Methodist Church-Jenks, Okla.
