Habitat for Humanity of Archuleta County breaks ground on 21st house

On Sunday, May 16, staff, board members, volunteers and friends of Habitat for Humanity of Archuleta County (HfHAC) joined Jim McQuiggin and his family as they broke ground on their family’s new home. HfHAC will partner with McQuiggin in the building of his home, the 21st home built by HfHAC.

Habitat for Humanity of Archuleta County (HfHAC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing low-income families with simple, decent, affordable houses and no-interest mortgages. Families are chosen based on need and the willingness to partner in the building of their home. HfHAC functions almost entirely on donated funds, grants and labor to build our homes. Generous support from local individuals and businesses helps us to keep our costs down.

HfHAC is currently seeking individuals and businesses to volunteer with us this summer as we build our 21st home. We build every Thursday and Saturday.

If you would like to join us in this community effort, call the Habitat for Humanity of Archuleta County office at 264-6960.
