The Jazz Choir, a part of the Pagosa Springs Community Choir, is almost ready for their part of the 2010 Spring Concert, to be held at the Pagosa Springs High School auditorium at 7 p.m. June 4, and 4 p.m. June 6.
Members of the Jazz Choir are D’Ann Artis, Rachael Hellwege, Karen Harper, Heidi Tanner, Sue Gottschalk, Sue Diffee, Perry Schjolin, Roger Jensen, Larry Baisdon and Dan Burch. Dan is our director and Venita Burch is our accompanist.
The Jazz Choir traditionally performs its portion of the program in the middle of the concert. The selections for the group are two old favorites from the Big Band era: “Don’t Get Around Much Anymore,” by Bob Russell and Duke Ellington, and “Moonglow.” by Will Hudson, Eddie DeLange and Irving Mills.
Of course, the rest of the concert will be the well known Community Choir of Pagosa Springs, singing a varied program of many fine musical arrangements. The concert is free so there’s no reason not to go, right? We hope to see you there the first weekend in June.
