Monday is the deadline to register youths ages 6-12 for this year’s youth baseball leagues; the recreation office is accepting registrations for coach-pitch division (ages 6, 7 and 8), and the 9- and 10-year-old division.
The office is also accepting registrations for the 11-12 division, but if the number of registrations submitted is not sufficient to support a league in this age bracket (at least three teams), registration fees will be refunded and the league will be canceled.
Registrations are available at the recreation office in Town Hall and are also available for download through the recreation department link at www.townofpagosasprings.com. Registrations have also been disbursed to the elementary and intermediate schools, as well. All registrations should be submitted to the recreation office.
Cost to participate in the program is $30 per player and $15 for each additional child in the same family who participates. Team coaches and sponsors are needed and appreciated.
The season is tentatively scheduled to begin in late May and should run through early July; for more information, call the recreation office at 264-4151, Ext. 231 or 232.
Are you a resident of the town of Pagosa Springs?
If so, the town is interested in measuring and improving your quality of life. You can assist town staff with this goal by taking an online survey available on the town Web site, www.townofpagosasprings.com. The survey includes questions regarding the levels of service provided by the parks and recreation departments, police department, and building and planning departments, among others.
The survey is brief and should take only 10 minutes of your time. If you do not have access to the Internet, prefer a paper version of the survey, or would like to complete the survey over the phone, contact Annie Rose Stathes, town intern, at 264-4151, Ext. 250.
This survey is not open to residents of Archuleta County, as the town is attempting to measure satisfaction levels within town limits. If you are uncertain whether you reside within town or county limits, or would like more information regarding the survey, contact Stathes at 264-4151 Ext. 250.
Tee ball schedules are available at the recreation office and have also been posted on the recreation department page at www.townofpagosasprings.com.
Weather permitting, games will be played Mondays and Wednesdays at the elementary school soccer fields. Coaches will be notified in advance when games are canceled due to inclement weather or poor field conditions.
For more information regarding this year’s tee-ball season, call the recreation office 264-4151, Ext. 232.
