The Archuleta County Planning Department is hosting a series of meetings, the “Road Show 2010,” throughout the county this year.
In January, the series kicked off with the first meeting in Arboles. Last month the meeting was in Chromo.
This month’s meeting will be held April 22 in Pagosa Lakes at the Pagosa Lakes Clubhouse, located at 230 Port Ave. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m.
Meetings are conducted in a “Town Hall” format in which citizens are asked to participate in an interactive discussion of what matters in their community when it comes to land use, planning, growth and development.
Meetings are informal and, although no official action is taken, comments will be reproduced in writing and reported back to the planning commission and the Board of County Commissioners. Each meeting is tailored to the community in which it is held.
The purpose of the meetings is to gain input and feedback on issues of concern in each individual community, information that will be used in the formation of the basis for long-range area plans and amendments to the Land Use Regulations.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting.
Future meetings will be held at the County Extension Building and at the county courthouse.
