The League of Women Voters will host a candidate’s forum on Thursday, April 29, at 6 p.m. at the Extension Building.
The Forum will include the five candidates running for the PAWSD board of directors: Allen Bunch, Ron Decker, Ray Finney, Roy Vega and Sue Walen.
The League of Women Voters Forum will begin with introductions. Each candidate will be provided a set list of questions and the answers to those questions will be presented at the forum. Following this, the floor will be open to questions direct from the audience in a town hall-style meeting.
The League of Women Voters was founded in 1920 to promote political responsibility through informed and active citizen participation in government. There are approximately 80,000 members of the League of Women Voters within all 50 states and the Virgin Islands. In Colorado, alone, there are 1,500 members. The League is a non-partisan organization that neither supports nor opposes any candidate or party. The League does take positions on issues based on in-depth study and provides voters with that analysis. As such, the League enjoys a reputation in the community for providing voters with reliable, balanced information.
Local League membership is $15 and all citizens are encouraged to join and get involved. For more information on the LWV, visit our Web site at http://lwvac.org/league.html.
