A Tax Day Tea Party for citizens concerned about the direction the government is taking our country will be held on Thursday, April 15, from 3-5 p.m. at the Ross Aragon Community Center. This event is sponsored by the Archuleta County Republican Women and is open to everyone, regardless of political affiliation.
Guest speakers will be Dan Maes, businessman and candidate for governor of Colorado, and J. Paul Brown, rancher and candidate for the Colorado State Legislature.
This is an opportunity to meet these candidates, hear them speak and discuss your concerns with them. There is no charge for admission and refreshments will be served.?
These are difficult times and there are many important issues at all levels of government. There will be a petition available to sign expressing our concerns about the direction the Obama administration and the Congress are taking the country. These petitions will be sent to the president and legislators. Each of us has ideas for better solutions to the problems facing the country and this is an opportunity to express them.
