Monday is deadline for tee-ball

Monday is the deadline to register for this year’s tee-ball league; any child who is 5 or 6 years old is eligible to participate.

Registrations are available at the recreation office in Town Hall and have been dispersed to local schools. Registrations are also available for download in Adobe format through the recreation department link at All registrations should be submitted to the recreation office in Town Hall.

Cost is $30 per player and $15 for each additional child in the same, immediate family who participates. The season is tentatively scheduled to begin in late April, with games likely to be played Mondays and Wednesdays.

Coaches and sponsorships for this year’s tee-ball teams are also needed and appreciated. Cost for sponsorship is $150, which includes sponsor’s name on team uniforms, commemorative plaque with team picture, and designation on season banners and in media articles.

For more information, call the recreation office 264-4151, Ext. 231 or 232.

Cross country skiing

With the onset of warmer weather, grooming and maintenance of area cross-country skiing trails has come to a halt.

There may still be skiable terrain on Reservoir Hill and forest service trails, but previously-maintained trails in Yamaguchi Park and Town Park are no longer viable options.

Lost and found

During the past few months, recreation department and community center staff members have collected numerous clothing items, water bottles and basketballs from the gym and locker rooms. These items have been placed in the “lost and found” bin in the community center office.

If you or your child has lost an item recently, it may be worthwhile to check with community center staff to see if your item has been placed in the lost and found bin.

Adult basketball

Adult basketball schedules are available at the recreation office in Town Hall and can be downloaded through the recreation department link at

Players may be added to the roster at any time throughout the season, but teams which have not paid the $250 team fee and participants who have not yet paid the $30 player will not be permitted to play.

The season will run through late April. Call the recreation office at 264-4151, Ext. 231 for more information.
