Head Start seeks funds for playground equipment, landscaping

This a third in a series of articles about the Pagosa Springs Head Start/Early Childhood Center?  We hope you read them, because each article is written with the desire to inform, encourage, and enlist your attention.

The first article was to inform you of generous donors in our community — Bob Hart, Mary Hart, Hart Construction Company, their Christmas pie auction donors, and Perry Schjolin — who donated five new computers, technical assistance and more to assist the staff.

The second article was to encourage you with the knowledge that 26 children graduated from the Center in May, well prepared to face their school futures in kindergarten, and to let parents of prospective young classroom stars know how to enroll their children.

This article is written to enlist your support and participation in an effort to obtain new playground equipment and provide an improved landscape for the children attending this vital community asset.

Children need safe, fun, healthy outlets for all that energy.

We are very grateful to the members of the Pagosa Women’s Club for their recent donation of $600 to kick off our fund-raising effort to improve the playground.

Will you join the Women’s Club in helping to raise money for playground equipment and landscaping?   We welcome participation by individuals, service clubs, social clubs and church groups.  Contact Sharee Grazda at 731-0666 and let us know your interest in being involved. We’ll be so grateful for your assistance.

The Pagosa Springs Head Start/Early Childhood Center is an early learning preschool and child care center that enrolls 3- and 4-year-old children.
