The Archuleta County Planning Department is hosting a series of meetings — the “Road Show 2010” — throughout the county this year. In January, the series kicked off with the first meeting in Arboles. Last month, the meeting was in Aspen Springs.
This month’s meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 25, in Chromo, at the fire station located at 1495 County Road 382.
Meetings are in a “Town Hall” format where citizens are asked to participate in an interactive discussion of what matters in their community when it comes to land use, planning, growth and development.
Meetings are informal and although no official action is taken, comments will be recorded in writing and reported back to the planning commission and Board of County Commissioners.
Each meeting is tailored to the community in which it is held.
The purpose of the meetings is to gain input and feedback on issues of concern in each individual community, which will begin to form the basis for long-range area plans and amendments to the Land Use Regulations.
Public comment is welcome and encouraged.
Future meetings will be held in Pagosa Lakes and at the county fairgrounds.
