Lenten Study begins Monday at CUMC

The 2010 Lenten Study at Community United Methodist Church will begin Monday, Feb. 22 and will continue through Monday, March 22.

The sessions are open to all in the community who would like to take part in the study/discussion sessions.

The five-week study will meet in the Fellowship Hall, beginning with a sandwich supper at 5:30 p.m. Each session will end by 7:30 p.m. at the latest. The church will provide the “makins” for sandwiches, chips, and drinks and fellowship opportunities.

The subject for the series, which will lead to the death and resurrection of Jesus, is “Spirituality.” What is it? How do you get it? Do I have it? How can I strengthen my spirituality? The leaders will be the pastors and the laity of the church.

If you have concerns about what you believe and your faith, this study might be for you. If you are not concerned, this study might also be for you. Come and have fellowship during the “sandwich time” and learn more about your spiritual life during the “study time.” A nursery will be provided if you need one.

You will gain the most from the study if you attend all the sessions, but it is not necessary that you attend each one. Come as often as you can to gain as much as you can.

If you are interested in attending, call the church office at 264-5508. Your response will help in planning for the “sandwich and fellowship time,” as well as for the child care. The pastors and church members look forward to spending time with you on these Monday evenings.
