Wednesdays, 2-3 p.m. Music and Dance for Kids, with Paul and Carla Roberts, is a joyous celebration of singing, dancing and musical instruments, open to young children accompanied by a parent. The Roberts have worked as arts-in-education specialists for many years.
Children are naturally responsive to music and dance, brightening up their day, bringing joy to the learning process and encouraging them to grow to their highest capacities. According to neuroscientists, music actually strengthens brain circuits used for learning.
A Japanese master mathematics teacher, whose nearly two million students have demonstrated remarkable abilities, was asked, “What is the most effective way of heightening children’s mental ability at the earliest possible stages?”
He answered, “The finest start for infants is to sing songs. This helps to elevate their powers of understanding, and they register astounding speed in learning math and languages.”
The cost for Music and Dance for Kids, with Paul and Carla Roberts, is $7 per family. For more information, call 731-3117.
