Beginning this week, The Pagosa Springs SUN will no longer print “Pagosa TV,” or include it as a supplemental section to its weekly newspaper.
SUN Publisher Terri House pointed to fundamental economics and the difficulty in obtaining accurate listings for a majority of area television subscribers as reasons for discontinuing the publication. For at least the past 12 years, the multi-page “TV guide” has been included in the paper as a free service.
While cessation of the television schedule may be an inconvenience to some, its inaccuracy and irrelevance — particularly to satellite customers — have proved increasingly annoying to many.
Therefore, The SUN suggests TV subscribers visit any of a number of television listings services now available on the Internet, where more precise and up-to-date program guides are just a few clicks away.
