Elation Center for the Arts is offering creativity sessions and classes at the new EcoLiving Studio in downtown Pagosa Springs.
Belly Dancing Basics, with Carla Roberts (Wednesdays 3 to 4:30 p.m.), is open to all those who wish to enjoy the great workout that modern belly dance gives you. Carla Roberts brings decades of dance experience in creating a safe and fun environment for creative expression. No previous experience is necessary. Wear comfortable clothing for movement, and bring a hip scarf if you have one. Drop-ins are welcome. For more information about Belly Dancing Basics, call Carla at 731-3117.
Movement to Music (Tuesdays, 6 to 7:30 p.m.) is a chance to experience your own style of movement — whether it is Hatha Yoga, Tai Chi, Belly Dance, free-form dance, or other styles of movement — to the flowing music of multi-instrumentalist Paul Roberts, who plays sitar, tambura, cello banjo, saz, shakuhachi, sarod, oud and cittern. A pioneer in the field of music therapy, Paul is dedicated to exploring and sharing the healing quality of sound. Plan on leaving all smiles, breathing better and with lots of positive energy. All are welcome. No experience is necessary. The cost is $7. For more information about Movement to Music sessions, call Paul at 731-3117.
EcoLiving Studio is located at 280 Pagosa St. — between Pagosa Source and Victoria’s Reign — in a brick-colored, stucco building. The studio’s phone number is 749-1600.
