Christopher George Stahr, 29, resident of Pagosa Springs, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009.
Youngest of four children, born to Tommy and Donna Stahr in Grand Junction, Colo., on Feb. 23, 1980, Chris spent most of his life in Pagosa and was a graduate of Pagosa Springs High School. He was a big man with a bigger heart. His proudest accomplishment was being a daddy to his beautiful children. He loved a good laugh, was a loyal friend, reveled in the smiles and laughter of others; he lived in the moment, held his friends close to his heart, loved to fish, was a reliable hand and good cowboy. He worshiped in the “cowboy cathedral” of God’s creation, found humor in all, and was funnier than hell.
He is survived by his children, Cayden Christopher and Bryse Joy; his parents Tom and Donna Stahr; grandparents Hud and Pat Neill; his brother Travis Stahr and sister and brother-in-law Terah and Greg Kelsey; fiancé Lauren Cummings of Nevada, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Christopher was predeceased by his eldest brother, Brian Tommy Stahr, and his most constant companion and truest canine friend — Duke.
Memorial services will be held at the Archuleta County Fairgrounds Extension Building on Jan. 3, 2010, at 3:30 p.m. Reception will immediately follow.
His ashes will be spread over the mountains he rode and rambled in. He will be remembered and missed by those who held him most dear. He remains unforgettable.
