The Town of Pagosa Springs has new recreational amenities, thanks to the Pagosa Nordic Club. These generous volunteers have undertaken the grooming of cross-country skiing trails in the downtown area for the use of our citizens and visitors. The trails are located at Yamaguchi Park on South 5th Street, on Reservoir Hill, and at the athletic field in Town Park on Hermosa Street. Access to the Reservoir Hill trails is from San Juan Street, adjacent to the Spa Motel, or from Spring Street, which heads up the hill from the south side of the Post Office off Hot Springs Boulevard
Other cross-country trails groomed by this group are located at a variety of locations around the area. Information regarding those trails, as well as grooming reports and trail conditions, is available at the club’s Web site, pagosanordic.com.
This year’s 7-8 youth basketball ended yesterday, and the recreation department staff would like to recognize this year’s coaches and sponsors for their significant contributions to the program. We thank the following coaches for ensuring an instructional, enjoyable season: David Snarr, Ross Lewis, Marcie Lewis, Connie O’Donnell, Allen Thompson, Kim Thompson, Darren Lewis and Rita Johnson. In addition, we recognize Hill’s Allstate Insurance Agency, Action Painting, Concrete Connection, Pagosa Feed and Nursery and Design A Sign, whose team sponsorships greatly offset the cost of purchasing program equipment, uniforms and maintenance supplies. In addition, we would like to thank all of the players and their parents and guardians for participating in this year’s program; thanks again to all of you for your continued sportsmanship, dedication and support.
