Showcasing the talents of artists

The Pagosa Springs Arts Council would like to extend its sincerest gratitude to the local artists who submitted ornaments for the council’s tree for the Festival of Trees.

All the handmade ornaments were wonderful pieces of art that showcased the talent of the following artists: Fran Jenkins, fabric and fiber artist; Sueyel Grace, pine needle artist; Ann Jacobi, jewelry artist; Linda Echterhoff, sculpture artist; Carol Schneider: jewelry and fiber artist; Will Dunbar: turned wood artist; Nancy Cole, fiber and wood artist; Diane Davis, fiber artist; Wen Saunders, photojournalist; June Jurcak, watercolor artist; and Allison Westfall and Ben Quails from Pagosa Pottery.

A special thank you goes to Pagosa Pottery for hosting the ornament workshops and making the workshops a memorable and fun experience.

Thank you also to those who attended the workshops and helped make the ornaments. Your participation was essential to the success of the project. The Festival of Trees Ornament Workshop was a wonderful opportunity for local artists to support the arts council and promote their arts in the community.

PMH-PSAC exhibit

You still have one day left to sponsor a piece of artwork for the Pagosa Mountain Hospital.

We’ve had five works sponsored to date and are still seeking additional sponsorships so drop by the Pagosa Mountain Hospital to view the work that is hanging and consider sponsoring a piece for the permanent art collection.

We would like to thank all of the participating artists and extend a special thank you to all of our donors. To sponsor an artwork, contact: Roxanne Schick, administrative coordinator Pagosa Springs Arts Council, 264-5020 or Linda Echterhoff, Pagosa Springs Arts Council board president, 946-3693.
