High School Photography Show opens tonight

The inaugural “Art in the Den” show opens today in the Senior Center at the Ross Aragon Community center. The opening reception for the High School Photography Show is from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

From actual landscapes to the inner landscapes of the human mind, this show is as diverse as the student artists contributing their work.

Throughout the fall semester, students have learned the fundamentals of digital photography while exploring the wide world of photography including: portraits, photojournalism, landscapes, and commercial photography.

Students shoot with Canon EOS Rebel 12 megapixel cameras then edit their images using Adobe Photoshop.

This show reveals the unique vision each student artist is pursuing in his or her own work. There will be something for everyone, from traditional black and white imagery to digital art.

Participating students include seniors Desiree Ewing, Megan Bryant, Jessica Failla, Paul Hoffman, Taleya Johnson, Amber Lark, Tamra Leavenworth, Jordan McCulloch, Meghan Moran, Austin Payne, Taylor Shaffer, Ashley Taylor, Tim Yount, Wes Royston, and Logan Secrist; juniors Karol Bachminski, Ashley Calhoun, Trey Gholson, Derek Hujus, Alyse Levato, and Kelsie McNutt; and sophomore: Nate Bard.
