High school students who have faced health challenges are invited to be trained as peer mentors.
Students with diabetes, Chron’s disease, physical challenges (paralysis, blindness, hearing loss) or brain-based differences such as epilepsy, Aspergers, depression and ADHD are needed to provide peer support to younger students with a similar diagnosis.
The training is open to teens in Archuleta, Dolores, La Plata, Montezuma and San Juan counties. It will be an overnight training at the SunUte Recreation Center in Ignacio on Dec. 4-5. Call Liza at 749-9607 for more information.
