Russ Hill Memorial Bazaar underway

The “elves” at the 47th annual Russ Hill Bazaar at the Community United Methodist Church are busy creating hundreds of wreaths and table arrangements for your holiday giving and enjoyment.

Truckloads of fresh greens have just been gathered from local forests for the endeavor. This is your annual opportunity to send friends and relatives across the country a fresh and delightful gift from Pagosa Springs.

The bazaar is operating Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The last day to place an order is Friday, Dec. 4, and the final day for walk-in table arrangement purchases or for order pick-ups is Friday, Dec. 9. The bazaar will be closed Nov. 26-29 so the “elves” can enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday season.

You can drop by the church, which is located on Lewis Street directly across the street from the Methodist Thrift Shop and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

You can phone in an order as well. The order desk phone number is 264-4538. Note: this is a different number from the Church office. Orders are also accepted by mail. Mail order reminders have gone out to those of you who ordered wreaths last year.

The elves are making 8- and 14-inch wreaths for both pick-up and shipping this year.

The basic 8-inch wreath cost is $25 and shipping cost is approximately $10.

The 14-inch basic wreath is $40 with a shipping cost of approximately $11.

Basic wreaths include fresh greenery, pinecones, and a nice bow in several color choices. There will be 16-inch wreaths available for local purchase if the greens don’t run out. It is not possible to ship these larger items. If you wish to have a 16-inch wreath it is best to place your order early to assure that one will be available for you.

You can also have your order customized with specific decorations. You can purchase embellishments at the bazaar or you can bring in your own items to be added to your purchases.

You are always welcome to head back to the “workshop” to select your items personally and to watch the elves in action.

Each year, the net proceeds from this bazaar are distributed throughout the community in the form of mini grants to non- profit and service organizations. By supporting the Russ Hill Memorial Bazaar you not only have a lovely gift or decoration, you are helping many citizens of our community as well.
