Cards of Thanks

Park Ave. and Holiday construction and paving.

We would like to send a very big thank you to Elam Construction and Branson Co., and everyone involved in the project. They worked so efficiently and neatly and were so friendly and cooperative. They did a great job on the culverts and finished off everyone’s driveway entrances very nicely. They also wet down the road very frequently to keep the dust down.

Great job — done very efficiently!

A.N. and Marge Ollila

McGuire

How do you adequately thank a community for all of the support, tributes, financial donations and words of comfort extended to the family of Jackie McGuire? We decided this was the best method to reach as many people as possible.

The first benefit, sponsored by the Pagosa Springs Kiwanis Club and the Knights of Columbus, were the key organizations, along with the Larry Allen family, who initiated the event. Kim Moore was the overall coordinator, and was aided by many volunteers, expert cooks and servers at the Parish Hall on Lewis Street. Father Carlos did his spiritual part, and helped serve the dinner, too! The local Audubon Society and Chamber of Commerce members, friends and family contributed many auction items — all of which were bid on and successfully distributed to the lucky bidders. The spaghetti dinner was prepared with mostly donated food and serving items. It was delicious, and the beautiful music performed by Pamela Novak topped off the evening.

The second benefit dinner, sponsored by Women Helping Women, held at Eddie’s Uptown Grille, was wonderful! Eddie prepared and donated all food (the delicious tapas; he specializes in it), and the wait staff — all volunteers for the evening. It was a very special night and the family was overwhelmed by the generosity of Eddie and the turnout of “Friends of Jackie.”

We wish to thank all of the donors who contributed to each benefit and/or for the offerings to the fund established at First Southwest Bank. The memorial service held at the Pagosa Lakes Property Owners Association Clubhouse was well attended. Our thanks go to Pastor Don Straight, who led all in prayer, and Karl Isberg, for opening the service, which prompted heartfelt tributes from family and friends of Jackie.

We will always be grateful to the Pagosa Springs community.
