With 51 in favor and 21 against, property owners in the San Juan River Village Metropolitan District voted to finance construction of the Harebell bridge, located on Bridge Drive, on the south side of the subdivision. Mail ballot results were totalled Tuesday.
As detailed in the Nov. 3 ballot issue, the district’s debt will increase by $400,000, with a repayment cost not exceeding $761,925.40. The amount will be paid off in no more than 20 years, without increasing district taxes.
According to Cynthia Purcell, designated election official, construction on the bridge will begin in the spring or summer of 2010, when the ground thaws enough for work to begin.
