We would like to thank everyone for their help and generosity at our bake sale to benefit Dick Sell. It was held Saturday, Sept. 17, at the downtown City Market. Congratulations to our raffle winner, Mike Briles, who won a beautiful platter donated by Goodman’s Department Store. Special thanks to Sophie Jacobson who organized the bake sale, Ruthie Montoya, Juanita Gallegos and many others for all the baking. We appreciate it more than you will ever know! Thanks again.

Big Brothers

Big Sisters

Big Brothers Big Sisters in Pagosa Springs wish to extend a big thank you to the Kiwanis and Key Clubs for their participation at our annual Great Pumpkin Carving outing held at Town Park on Friday, Oct. 23. This is the second year that Kiwanis has offered their assistance with this event and we truly appreciate the time and effort they gave. We also extend our thanks for the generous pumpkin donations from Chimney Rock Farm and City Market. Big Brothers Big Sisters cannot thrive without the ongoing support of our Pagosa community. We are grateful for all who help to make our program such a success.

Jazz for Justice

I would like to thank the following businesses for their support at the Jazz For Justice concert: The Floured Apron, Studio 160, The Spa at Pagosa Springs, Barrios Detailing, The Malt Shoppe, Treasures of the Earth, Home Again, Lantern Dancer, The Overlook Hot Springs, Nello’s, The Plaza Grille, Switchback, City Market and Pagosa Photography. Additionally, I would like to thank Teena Roemer, Kathy Conway, Dearle Ricker, Anna O’Reilly, Becky McCranie, and Marilyn Krings for donating massages as wonderful silent auction prizes. Without these wonderful people and businesses, our success would not have been possible. We have a tight budget, but will be able to help several people with reduced prices or pro bono work because of the generosity of Pagosa people.

The Jewell family — Rick, Roxane, Caitlyn and John — would like to thank all of the great people who helped to organize, donated to and attended the fund-raiser last Saturday. Proceeds from the event will help Rick receive treatment for his Parkinson’s disease. There are not adequate words to express our gratitude for your time, hard work, donations, kind words and well wishes.
