It’s the 29th and we only have two days left until our big, fabulous, free Halloween Carnival at the Ross Aragon Community Center. Keep in mind the Carnival hours have changed this year, 3-5 p.m. Come to the center and enjoy all the games, toys, candies, trophies and fun.
We’re holding a food drive to help our fellow Pagosans.
We are asking everyone to please drop off a non-perishable item Oct. 15-Nov. 15, to help with the community center’s drive.
Here is a list of some of the goods needed: canned meat or fish, veggies, fruit, soup or dried soup mixes, pasta, rice, beans, sauces or meal mixes for pasta/rice, (I.e., hamburger helper, gravy mix, sizzle and stir), boxes of instant pudding, Jell-O, macaroni and cheese, 16-ounce jars of peanut butter, saltine crackers, baking mix (Bisquick), 9.6-ounce powdered milk, cereal hot/cold, 2 pound sugar, 12-ounce dish soap, paper towels, toilet paper.
We are trying to reach our goal of 500 items to donate to our local food banks. Let’s make this a Boo-tacular Halloween Food Drive.
Festival of Trees
You still have time to fill out an application for The Festival of Trees.
Our new due date for applications is Nov. 16.
The public is encouraged to view the trees until 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, and Friday, Dec. 4, until 2 p.m. Be sure to join us Dec. 4, for the live and silent auctions. Peter Morey will entertain us on the piano until 7:30 p.m. Catered hors d’oeuvres will be served, and a cash bar will be available. Admission to the auction is $10, and the doors open at 6 p.m.
Remember, this may be the only auction in town where you can bid for more than one of your favorite charitable organizations. It is truly a fun evening. Please call the center for more information, 264-4152.
If you know of a family or senior that in need of a Christmas tree this year tell them to come to the center office, 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday until Nov. 16 and fill out an application for a donated tree from the Festival of Trees auction. There is a limit on the number of trees donated. So, please fill out applications as soon as possible.
