A major prescribed burn is being undertaken by the BIA on tribal lands near Pagosa Springs.
Begun Tuesday, Oct.6, burning is taking place on land located approximately 10 miles southwest of Pagosa Springs, in the Round Meadow area.
The prescribed burn activities will continue until Oct. 20. Approximately 1,200 acres will be involved in the project.
Smoke could be visible at times from Pagosa Springs and surrounding areas.
