Hospital art exhibition and silent auction

Calling all art admirers.

Inspired by the beauty and aura of this area, a selection of original art was submitted for jurors’ inspection on Oct. 3.

With great anticipation, the Pagosa Spring Arts Council and the Pagosa Mountain Hospital have joined to feature and promote the talent of area fine artists.

A select group of juried art will include a wide array of subject matter, from traditional to contemporary, and various media in two-dimensional pieces.

All art work accepted into the show will be for sale and on display through Dec. 11, at the Pagosa Mountain Hospital, 95 S. Pagosa Blvd.

The show presents an opportunity for the sponsor to promote a permanent collection, which will be placed in the PMH and clinic, benefitting patients, family, visitors, and staff. The exhibit also gives individual buyers an opportunity to add quality work to their personal collections of art.

Local artists Kathleen Steventon, Buster Griggs and Randall Davis juried the show. Theses artist are also eligible to hang pieces at this exhibit.

Most of the artists whose work is accepted will attend an opening reception scheduled at the hospital for 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17. A catered buffet, spirits and live keyboard artistry by John Graves offers an evening for community fellowship and the viewing of these select pieces of art. Everyone is invited to attend.

Another show highlight will be the silent auction. Auction proceeds will go to the tree sculpture project by artist Chad Haspels now underway at the hospital site. The two finished carvings will be spotlighted at the exhibition opening.
