The community center has the honor of identifying itself with the name of a very special Pagosan — a man who was instrumental in bringing the community center to fruition. We are now pleased to be known as the Ross Aragón Community Center.
Ross Aragón has expressed his passion for the community center with his continued support on the board of the Pagosa Springs Community Facilities Coalition. Congratulations Ross and family!
The frost has come and events will now have to move to warmer surroundings.
The Ross Aragón Community Center is where you’ll find that hot spot. Our winter schedule will go into effect today, Oct. 1 — 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, and Saturday 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Events can still be booked seven days a week.
If you find you are in need of a clean, warm environment, you’ll find it at the center. Please call 264-4152 for additional information.
Oktoberfest 2009 will be Saturday, Oct. 3, 4:30-8:30 p.m. at the community center. Pre-sale tickets are available at the center, Chamber of Commerce and Plaid Pony. Adult ticket prices include an authentic German meal and commemorative stein. Children’s tickets include a hot dog, chips and festive mug.
The Southwest Land Alliance will hold a fund-raiser Oct. 5, 7-9 p.m. at the community center. World-renowned nature photographer John Fielder will present a free slide show from 7-9 p.m., sponsored by Hart Construction Company, to benefit the Southwest Land Alliance, Pagosa’s local land trust. Many of John’s books will be available for purchase, and are signed by the author.
For information, visit www.southwestlandalliance.org, www.johnfielder.com or call SLA at 264-7779.
Yes! The community center will hold its annual celebration Saturday, Oct. 31, 3-5 p.m. This will be a great event for the whole family.
We look forward to seeing residents and visitors alike. Come have fun with us!
Festival of Trees
The Festival of Trees is for any person, group or business that will provide and decorate a tree to be auctioned, with proceeds going to an Archuleta County non-profit organization of their choice.
This is a wonderful event that puts smiles on all faces. The public is encouraged to view the trees until 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, and Friday, Dec. 4, until 2 p.m. Be sure to join us Dec. 4, for the live and silent auctions. Catered hors d’oeuvres will be served, and a cash bar will be available. Admission to the auction is $10, and the doors open at 6 p.m.
Remember, this may be the only auction in town where you can bid to benefit more than one of your favorite organizations. It is truly a fun evening. Please call the center for more information, 264-4152.
It is now easy to find us on Facebook; simply go to Facebook and on their site search for “Pagosa Springs Community Center.” This will take you to our wall which lists all our current/past events and photos. We encourage you to become a “fan” of our site to receive automatic updates.
