We have several major events scheduled at the Pagosa Springs Community Center through winter. Among them are:
• The 15th annual Auction for the Animals, presented by the Humane Society of Pagosa Springs. This will take place tomorrow, Friday, Aug. 28. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. You can purchase tickets at the Humane Society Thrift Store, Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center, Moonlight Books and Plaid Pony. For more information, call 264-5549 or go to www.humanesociety.biz.
• The annual Fall Rummage Sale. Applications are at the front desk for our Fall Rummage Sale, set for Saturday, Sept. 12, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. It will be a fabulous day, filled with fun, as you search for those special items. We will also have food for purchase at the sale to benefit the center.
If you have items you would like to donate to the center for the sale, bring them to the center for our booth. Please call us for more information, 264-4152.
• The Festival of Trees. This has always been a great event in which to participate. If you’re a member of a Archuleta County non-profit organization, encourage your group to participate, and help bring a smile to those that enjoy all that a decorated tree can bring to the season. The public is encouraged to view the trees until 5:30 p.m, Thursday, Dec. 3, and Friday, Dec. 4, until 2 p.m.
Be sure to join us Dec. 4 for the live auction and silent auction. Catered hors d’oeuvres will be served, and a cash bar will be available. Admission to the auction is $10, and the doors open at 6 p.m.
It is easy to find us on Facebook — simply Google search for “Pagosa Springs Community Center, Facebook.” This will take you to our Wall, which lists all our current/past events and photos. We encourage you to become a “friend” of our site to receive automatic updates.
