We want to thank everyone who purchased a golf ball in the recent Rotary Club third annual Golf Ball Drop fund-raiser and to Jim and Eva Iwicky of Caribou Crane for providing their services, and Troy Persson and his team at the Pagosa Springs Golf Club, along with all the volunteers who helped to make this a great event. Hele and Deb Mott were the winners, and received $3,248. Jody MCalister was the second-place winner, receiving $812. With your support, we raised $16,240 toward our Rotary Scholarship Fund (for our local high school students’ higher education) and all the other programs Rotary supports in our community. It was a very exciting day, and a good time was had by all.

I would like to thank Joanne, Karen and the entire staff of the Pagosa Xtreme Youth Camp. They are all dedicated individuals who worked hard to offer to the youth of Pagosa a fun, exciting, and learning environment this summer. Thank you for all your hard work; and, I know I speak for many when I say that I hope to see the Xtreme Youth Camp next summer.

The Geothermal Greenhouse Partnership Team would like to thank The Springs Resort for hosting our first public presentation of the project and visit from Senator Michael Bennett and his staff. The conference room and staff lived up to The Springs’ world-class billing and growing reputation.

A big thank you to all those who came to the Pick Me! Plant exchange sponsored by the Mountain High Gardeners at Saturday’s Farmer’s Market. We exchanged many plants and seeds, plus earned money for the garden club’s community projects. Thanks also to High Plains Nursery for their donation of the Meteor cherry tree, which was won by Sharon Meyers.
