Sheriff department seeks to hire new animal control officer

The Archuleta County Sheriff’s Department has an immediate opening for an Animal Control Officer.

The position enforces animal control laws in the county related to the protection of animals and the public, and issues written warnings and citations for violations of animal control laws, delinquent licenses, and related complaints.

Applicants must have the equivalent to the completion of the 12th grade, with two years experience in a directly-related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities, such as providing care or handling of animals in a veterinary office or animal shelter.
