Family Festivo draws big crowd to Town Park

More than 550 people attended the “Family Festivo” event Thursday in Town Park and enjoyed the musical performance, lunch, games and the beautiful day.

The characters in the cast of “Peter and the Wolf” were acted by local children in costumes fit for the part and included: Miah Pitcher playing Peter, Will Meyer as the wolf, the bird by Addie Thompson, the duck played by Hannah Hemenger, the cat was Elsa Lindner, and Trenton Cordova playing grandfather. The hunters were played by Ella Hemenger, River Pitcher, April Rivas, Grace Thompson, Jude Lindberg and Sophia Raymond.

Felicia Meyer directed this performance with high school student Dakota Jarvey as the assistant director. Brooks Lindner narrated the play and the music was performed by the Music in the Mountains festival orchestra.

Clifford the Big Red Dog made a special appearance at the event, courtesy of Rocky Mountain PBS.

This event was provided to the community through the generosity of the premier sponsors Al and Marti Bledsoe, Colorado Council on the Arts, Town of Pagosa Springs and Rocky Mountain PBS. Supplies were donated by The Springs Resort, Scott Strategic Investments, and A&P Tents.
