County fair features a Scarecrow Contest

Back from a bit of a hiatus is a scarecrow contest at the county fair. This contest is open to all ages, individuals and businesses but will be limited to 15 entries only, first come, first serve. Scarecrows must be made off site and brought ready to be exhibited on Thursday, July 30th. All entries must be a product of the exhibitor/organization, weatherproof, less than 6 feet tall and have a hanging/tie up device (rope, hook, etc.), so as to be displayed properly. Entries will be displayed throughout the fairgrounds and the Fair Board is not responsible for any damage to scarecrows.

Winners will be determined by fair patrons.

Cash prizes (first place-$100, second place -$50, third place-$25) with ribbons will be awarded, with collected spare change votes going to charities of choice for all entries. Winners will be announced during the Chuckwagon Dinner, Saturday, Aug. 1, at 5 p.m.

Entry forms are due by Tuesday, July 28, and scarecrows will be taken at the Fairgrounds on: Wednesday, July 29, from 1-4 p.m. Release of entries will be on Sunday, Aug. 2, from 4-6 p.m.
