Solo or Du-o? Take your pick
Wednesday, July 22, 2009

Are you the solo type or do you “Du” better as a team?

You decide.

Once again, we are gearing up for the Pagosa Duathlon, an exciting race for all ages, and all levels of athletes, Saturday, July 11.

You can compete in the race alone, or as a member of a team. Du-o or solo, it’s up to you.

First, at 8 a.m., we’ll start off with our kids’ race, the Mini-Duathlon. This is a 1-mile run and a 2-mile bike ride. Kids of all ages are welcome.

Next will be the main events: the Half-Duathlon and the Full-Duathlon, starting at 9 a.m.

The Half entails a 3-mile run with a 7-mile bike, and the Full is a 6-mile run with a 12-mile bike.

The race route includes single-track trails, forest service ATV trails, and gravel roads. Many portions are fast, others are a little more demanding.

All participants will get an official race T-shirt, food to re-energize, and an entry to win amazing door prizes. Top finishers will receive additional awards.

Come out and enjoy your Saturday morning with us. It’s friendly competition for anyone who likes to get out in our beautiful terrain for a little fun and a little challenge.
