Daniel John Gnazzo, 82, of Aurora, passed away on June 19, 2009. He served in the Navy during World War II. He grew up in New York City, N.Y., and attended Peter Stuyvesant High School. He received his R.N. from Mount Vernon School of Nursing, and was the first male nurse to graduate. He retired after 32 years of service as a medical sales representative and district manager with Armour Pharmaceutical Company, and was a member of the President’s club. He was an avid sports fan,?poker?player,?and a member of the Aurora Eagles and Elks Clubs. Survivors include wife Maxine, sons John (Shelly), Paul, and daughter Danna (Kurt) Laverty, grandchildren, Dan, Megan, and Connor Gnazzo; Nicholas Gnazzo; Benellen, Allison, Mason, Johannah, Jesse, and Caleb Laverty, Sister Elaine, niece and nephews. Burial was held at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23. A memorial service and luncheon followed at 11:30 a.m. at Lord of the Hills Lutheran Church at 21755 E. Smokey Hill Road, Centennial. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Restoration Fellowship, 264 Village Drive, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147. Benellen Laverty, (Youth with a Mission).
