After the holiday, it’s time to get tacky
Wednesday, July 22, 2009

We hope everyone had a chance to Celebrate America at the center and we hope you plan to attend all the other holiday activities around town.

We want to send out an extra thank you to the Red Hats, American Legion, and Claudine and Mark McAnelly for being with us every year, and the fantastic entertainers we all enjoyed at Celebrate America. We hope to always provide a very special night of entertainment for the entire community.

I don’t know how else I can say it, so here goes: “Tacky, tacky, wonderfully tacky.” That’s the kind of time we’ll have at the center July 24, 7-11 p.m. You must be there — there is no excuse; we have the tunes, the place, and you just have to show up and have the fun!

This 21-and-over event will feature a cash bar, and a foot-stomping, tackalicious DJ Dude hit-playing party. An evening of delights is all yours when you purchase your tickets at Higher Grounds Coffee, Happy Trails and the community center. Tickets are only $10 in advance, and $12 at the door. How tackwonderous is that?

Get your imaginative juices flowing for the Festival of Trees, Dec. 1-4. This is a great opportunity for Archuleta County organizations to raise money, and for everyone to enjoy a fun evening. We have applications at the front desk. Don’t miss out this year.
