Looking for something for the kids to do this summer?
Why not add the Pagosa Springs Xtreme Day Camp as one of your options?
Campers are dropped off at the Pagosa Springs Youth Center (formerly the Power House) at 8 a.m. Monday through Friday. Programs consist of a balance of sports (land and water), arts, crafts, dance, reading, journaling, hiking, library and computer time, to name a partial list.
You can sign your children up for two, three or five days each week.
This camp is a nice balance between summer vacations, other activities or other camps. It gives the kids some fun with qualified supervision and an opportunity to meet other kids their age. Some campers have signed up with friends, as well.
There are sibling discounts and you may qualify for some assistance through the Department of Human Services. Whatever your childcare needs, for kids ages 5-13 we can help you out.
Karen Carpenter is the program director and can be reached at 264-5030. Activities change every week and some extra charges may apply. Camp will run through Aug. 14, so that leaves seven weeks of activities this summer.
An application can be downloaded off the Web site www.psyouthcenter.com. Campers are accepted at the center at the start of camp day. Please have all your forms filled out and checks made out, payable to the Pagosa Springs Youth Center.
For additional information, call the Youth Center at 264-5030.
