Start the Fourth of July holiday at the community center

There are many great events happening soon at the Pagosa Springs Community Center.

The center will host the fourth annual Celebrate America to set your Fourth of July holiday off on the right note. There is also the upcoming Tacky Dance to get your feet moving, and all the wonderful free activities/classes we offer.

If you can think of an activity we have not offered, please give me a call at 264-4152. I’m always ready to hear about something new.

Celebrate America will take place at the community center 6:45-8:30 p.m. July 1. We will have a night of entertainment for the entire family, featuring singers, dancers, music, a storyteller and a Pagosa son. This is a free event for the entire family. Dessert and refreshments will be served.

Shabby, not stylish? Tasteless?

Yeah, that’s us.

The whole room will be tacky — tacky tables, tacky people and tackalicious fun — July 24, 7-11 p.m.

This 21-and-over cash bar dance, with the beats of the DJ Dude, is your chance to go crazy! You can purchase your tickets at Higher Grounds Coffee, Happy Trails and the community center. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.

Later in the year, don’t forget the Festival of Trees, Dec. 1-4. This is a great opportunity for Archuleta County organizations to raise money, and for everyone to enjoy a fun evening. Contact the community center for details.
