The Pagosa Area Water and Sanitation District will host an informational luncheon at their offices from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, entitled “Modern Plumbing: When Things Go Backwards — How to Insure Your Home and Health.”
Tom Farber of the T. Charles Wilson Insurance Service will be the guest speaker for the event.
Cleaning up after a sewer or water backup can cost a homeowner tens of thousands of dollars. The PAWSD insurance pool will only cover an incident up to $7,500 (no-fault benefit). Therefore, in order to protect oneself from the costs of cleaning up after a sewage backup or flooding incident, it is important for every property owner to carry a rider on his homeowner’s insurance.
Topics of the discussion will include: When, where, how and why do backups occur, and why should I care; Navigating riders, liability and other important insurance concepts; Understanding PAWSD’s No Fault, immunity defense and limited recompense ability; and Horror stories: don’t let this happen to you! What every homeowner should know.
Lunch will be provided, but those planning to attend must reserve a space by July 1 by calling or e-mailing Christina Velarde at 731-2691, or email@example.com.
