Pagosa Springs Xtreme Day Camp opens Monday, June 22, and the camp will register participants today, June 18, and Friday, June 19, noon to 3 p.m. each day.
The camp, run by Karen Carpenter and her great staff, will be open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Pagosa Springs Youth Center, formerly the Power House, located adjacent to the Town Park playing fields.
This camp is designed for children 5-13, each of whom will be placed in appropriate age groups.
Cost for the camp will be $125 for five days a week, $90 for three days a week and $60 for two days each week. Discounts for siblings will be offered.
You can apply to the Department of Human Services for financial support, if needed. You will need to make an appointment and fill out an application at the department offices located at Town Hall.
Camp activities include hiking, swimming, sports, fishing, photography, arts and crafts, horseback riding, reading, theater arts and dance — to name a few. Each week, the activities change to keep campers engaged and to use the Pagosa Springs environment to its fullest.
For more information, stop by the Pagosa Springs Youth Center during registration today and tomorrow, between noon and 3 p.m., or call Joanne Irons at 946-7545.
