Night Sky for Kids program at Chimney Rock

Chimney Rock Night Sky for Kids will take place Friday, June 20.

This entertaining, educational program provides an excellent opportunity for kids to learn about the astronomy of the Ancestral Puebloans, the solar system and the universe.

After the opening program, kids will be assisted in using telescopes for approximately 1.5 hours of night-sky viewing. ?Participants are advised to come prepared with binoculars, water (also for sale at the cabin), flashlights and coats. The gate will open at 7 p.m.; the opening program is scheduled from 8-8:30; with viewing from 9 to 10:30.

The upper parking area is paved and wheelchair accessible, with restroom facilities. Reservations are suggested, as space is limited.

Tickets can also be purchased at the Visitor Cabin prior to the program: $10/adults and $5 for children 11 years and younger.
